Work-integrated learning is an essential component of many university degrees. This study examined a range of knowledge tools that are used by students to support their learning during clinical placement. This study showed that expert others in the workplace, print and electronic information sources and to a lesser extent electronic communication tools were utilized by students during their clinical placement to support their learning. The findings support an integration of practice-base learning with learning mediated by information sources to provide further understanding of work-integrated learning.
